About Us
Introduction
Carebears is a Horde World of Warcraft guild located on Frostmourne whose goals are simple yet effective. We aim to create a close knit group of gamers and provide them with a competitive guild whilst retaining a fun, friendly and drama-free atmosphere. The core of our guild are mostly in there early-to-mid-twenties, and have been playing games together now for over 6 years.
Who we are, and who we want
Carebears is very much a casual guild nowadays. This doesn't mean we accept every noob that comes along though. We expect a certain standard of skill from our members, and have a very low tolerance for people who are clueless. Carebears is a mature guild. We all have lives (well most of us) and some of us even have other halves, we understand that gaming is not number one priority. If you don't have a job and you play in excess of 40 hours a week, this will not be the guild for you! We keep our weekends free so we can go out and socialise. Most main guild events will be planned for weeknights (raids etc). If you are looking for a mature guild who keeps a tight bunch of members, has a good skill level, and likes to have some fun then look no further.
Our Goals
Our short-term goals in Wrath of the Lich King are to get to level 80, and expand the guild so it has the capacity to start doing 10man raids. We also wish to create a presence in the new World PvP zone: Wintergrasp. All of this will be done whilst encouraging a friendly environment in the guild and keeping our casual stance. We have no plans to 'enforce' our members to reach level 80, rather we encourage them to take their time and enjoy the experience!
Once we are comfortably doing 10mans, we may look at expanding further into 25man raids. This is not our priority and if we did it is likely we wouldn't do 25man raids more than once a week.
Our Style
We have a proud history, and have built a good reputation amongst our peers. In order to maintain this reputation, we have a few behavioural rules which we expect to be upheld. We encourage our members to be as polite as possible not only to other members, but also to people outside of the guild. We ask that our members carry on in the game with decency and do nothing to defame our guilds name. For example, this means not grieving allies (grieving enemies is fine!), and not getting into nasty verbal arguments with anyone. We also ask our members to respect the officers of the guild and support their decisions. As mentioned above, we also look to maintain a high level of skill in the guild.

Our History
The core of our members has been playing together for many years now. We decided to start Carebears when the World of Warcraft Oceania servers were announced in late 2005. We quickly built a strong guild, and made a name for ourselves in the PvP battlegrounds. We had some of the server's first rank 14s, and numerous rank 13s. We were also on the cutting edge of PvE, being one of only 3 horde guilds on our server to kill C'Thun. We were also near the front of Naxx progression.
The release of The Burning Crusade saw even further focus put on PvE. Whilst the arenas were fun, they were also quite gimmicky and almost completely killed group PvP in WoW. We were once again at the peak of PvE, becoming one of the first guilds on the server to defeat Lady Vashj. Unfortunately the core of the guild was quickly losing interest in the game, and in late 2007 we decided to call it quits.
We had a dabble in Warhammer, but were very disappointed with the game. Most of the guild did not see a reason to renew their subscription beyond the first month so we drew the curtains on that
In October 2008, with the impending launch of Wrath of the Lich King a bunch of our core players decided to get back into WoW. We're looking forward to sampling the new content and are also looking to recruit new players to the guild!
We look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield!
