Firelands Wrap

4.2 has finally come to an end, so I guess it's about time I did a little recap. We cleared 4/7 heroics before the nerfbat ruined all our fun. We almost had Baleroc before the nerf, but due to a horrible turn of events and the extreme tunnel vision of a certain hunter we wiped at 45 000 HP
From there, none of us could be arsed smashing our faces against the brick wall that was Heroic Ragnaros. So we spent our time farming 6/7 Firelands and doing other things that were actually enjoyable. I must say I really like the Sinestra encounter, even though we have yet to manage a kill!
We also completed a few Firelands legendaries, grats to Bonedoom for getting the guild's first and to Demoniakal from group 2 on his
Now we are into 4.3's raid, Dragon Soul, and we'll have an update very shortly on our progression there
Heroic Alysrazor with AFK tanks
Posted by Sokaris on Wed 7th Sep, 2011. 4:52pm.

So we're without our two tanks again, but somehow that hasn't slowed us down too much. While Sven and ZT are jetsetting around the world, we somehow managed to kill Heroic Alysrazor with two tanks still rocking some ZG/ZA gear. Good times!
This kill puts us on 4/7 this tier. Hopefully once we get one of our tanks back a Heroic Baleroc kill won't be far away. Group 2 are also progressing well this tier. They're hot on our heals with 2/7
We Killed Stuff!

We've been making some steady progress through the first tier of Cataclysm raiding. The expansion hasn't been kind to us, it's thrown everything it can at us; exploiting our lack of interrupts, server resets taking huge chunks out of the 7-8 hours we raid each week, severely underbalanced classes and super delayed fix-it patches. Add to that the holiday season taking our main tank away from us for a month and it's fair to say that it's been a tough slog so far.
But we've soldiered on, and our perseverance has come into fruition lately

Cheers for the loots chump. Next up, some Maloriak? Or maybe some Atramedes, stay tuned!
Group 2 are also progressing well considering their very limited raid time. They are 11/12, with just Nefarian to go and a Heroic Halfus kill not far off I'm told
So that's where I left it...

Mother of god, it's been a while. So much has happened since our last update. Where do we start?
Well we had a 10man group going at the start of Wrath of the Lich King, which fizzled out some time before the release of 3.1 and Ulduar. Things were quiet for a while, most of us were taking a break from the game, while a few of us continued playing in various guilds. Then towards the end of the expansion we all got back together again with some old and new faces and put a 10man team together to take on Icecrown Citadel. It was quite successful, downing 11/12 heroic modes and of course getting our drakes

When Cata hit we raced to 85 and got stuck into gearing up and getting a raiding team together. We quickly started progressing through the content, and reached 9/12 before Scott (our Main Tank) left on a month long holiday. At the same time our Shaman also went on holidays, leaving our raid group with only 1 interupter! This has forced progression to come to a bit of a halt, since both the Cho'gall and Nefarian encounters both require frequent interupting. The 4.0.6 patch will give our current 2 paladin tanks a usable interupt, but we were expecting that patch a week ago. Our souls become a little more destroyed with every patch-free week that goes by
Along the way a lot of old faces have found their way back to Carebears, and following some discussion we decided to start up a 2nd 10man group. It's been led by Karny and Moosh and so far they are progressing very well indeed. They are also getting much better loot! Want to buy weapons for group 1!
Annnnd that just about covers everything that's happened in the last 2 and a bit years!
World of Warcraft
Posted by Sokaris on Wed 5th Nov, 2008. 2:14am.
Let me start by saying I take back any bad thing I've ever said about World of Warcraft. After sampling many other games in our hiatus from WoW, ranging from FPS, console games, sports-sims, and even other MMORPGs I can honestly say that none of them have captivated me in the same way that WoW has. No game has given me the same feeling of accomplishment, teamwork, replayability, adventure, exploration or even just fun. I can't put my finger on what exactly 'it' is that makes me enjoy WoW so much (I'm sure its a combination of all the aforementioned things) but whatever 'it' is I'm now 99% sure I will never find 'it' in another game. It's not that I'm addicted to the game, I think I've proved (to myself if no one else) that I'm capable of giving the game away. I just enjoy it far more than anything else that is on offer!
With my life story now out of the way, I'd like to announce that Carebears is also returning to WoW! We are strictly a casual guild this time around, and have no aspirations to reach the heights of progression that we were once at. In fact, we may never 25man raid again. But we are certainly keen to sample the 10man content of WotLK and will be recruiting in the near future to make this possible. We'd also like to welcome any of our old members who share our casual stance on the game back to the guild! Hit us up on the forums.
Strangely, it feels good to be back

A little slow on posting this, but anyways. When it came time to renew our subscriptions after the free month you get with the game, alot of us found it very hard to fork out even more money for this seemingly very, very unfinished game. We have decided to retire Carebears in Warhammer. The game simply did not live up to our expectations. It's a shame, as it had such a lot of potential. I won't go into the problems we had with the game, you can read all about that on our forums if you wish.
A big thankyou to everyone who joined us during the beta, and the first month of retail. We met some great people, and it was certainly a pleasure playing with all of you. For those of you sticking with the game, we wish you all the best! To everyone else, good luck with whatever else it is you decide to pick up
A few of us are heading back to WoW. Join our discussions on that on the forums
Carebears Are Caring
Posted by Sokaris on Tue 16th Sep, 2008. 7:46pm.
On the 15th of September at 3:57am, the Carebears guild was officially created in Warhammer! I believe we were the second Order guild created on the Anlec server. SE Head Start is only a few short hours away from beginning and we can't wait for everyone to join in the fun!

The 15+ of us who had the CE Head Start have already been busy with levelling and RvR. We've killed a few lair bosses along the way too! Tier 2 has been a little boring so far, as the server isn't very populated yet. That will change over the next few weeks though as more and more people are let into the game. We're proud to be one of the first guilds established in the game, and on the server!
Anlec Here We Come!
Posted by Sokaris on Sun 14th Sep, 2008. 11:36am.
After much deliberation we have decided to roll on the Open Oceanic server Anlec! We've decided the latest changes to the Open ruleset are evidence enough that the developers are paying attention to this ruleset and won't be neglecting it. There was a large majority within the guild calling for Open. The general consensus was that we feel there shouldn't be an 'unnatural barrier' protecting players outside of the RvR lakes. Carebears has always supported this kind of 'Open PvP' and we're looking forward to the challenges it will provide.
The game is going live for via the CE Head Start within the next 24 hours. We'll be rushing to get our guild created, expect another news post when we do so!
Carebears in Open Beta
Posted by Sokaris on Sun 14th Sep, 2008. 3:13am.
I'm a little late on posting this! After dabbling in the betas now for the last few months, Carebears was officially created in the Open Beta on the 6th September 2008. A great milestone indeed. Since then we've been testing out classes, RvR, PQs and many other things
The Collectors Edition Headstart goes live sometime Monday morning in our timezone, and Standard Edition approximately 1 day after that. We can't wait! We'll have an announcement on which server we'll be rolling on very very soon so watch this space. See you all in-game!

As most of us know, Open Beta is due to start on the 7th of September. As we look for things to do, play other random games, and kiss our loved ones goodbye, here's a list of things you may wish to read to help take the sting out of the anticipation.
Warhammer Alliance Guides Index
Most of the guides in here are absolutely must-read stuff. There's low-end performance guides, PVP guides, levelling guides.. You name it and there is a guide for it. Check them out, and share the good ones with us in the comments if you wish!
Preview Weekend Fixes
A list of things the dev team has fixed after the preview weekend. Great to know they have fixed alot of issues.
Mark Jacobss Blog
The lead designer of Warhammer Online has just started a blog. He's done great interviews and community updates in the past, so his blog should prove to be quite entertaining. Especially when you have nothing else better to do!
Our Forums
Shameless plug. We're surprised how many of our old members have found us again, and how many new ones have joined us for the first time! Come join us for random chit-chat, it takes the edge off boredom.
Trent From Punchy
If you're really bored, you can check out Damadar's brother on YouTube. Good for a laugh if you haven't seen it yet.
That's about it for now, remember.. Open Beta on the 7th! Can't wait to see everyone in-game!
